Well I'll be blowed

Well, cover me in honey and tie me to an ants nest, an asparagus crown I'd planted in August, which I'd all but given up on, has produced a spear. Veggies will never cease to amaze me.
Look very, very closely, It's roughly dead center.

My asparagus is growing quicker than I can harvest and eat it. Pat is already sick of it.....but not me....

Towards the end of winter, give it a feed of manure and that'll have it booming in the spring:D

I should get half a harvest next growing season, fingers crossed.
How many crowns do you have in?

Awesome Stewart!
Yep, that about what mine looks like. I am just leaving it to do it own thing this year.

Now to remember exactly where it is come next spring!

Yes, I've got lots of sticks in the ground to remind me I have a plant here and there, then I can't remember what I planted.
