A is for Asparagus

My first edible asparagus spear.

Well my second actually, you see the two Isa Brown chooks have taken to flying out of their provided accommodation and destroying the garden (I'm sure these girls don't understand the meaning of a shortened life span) along with the very first edible asparagus spear.

Not much you can do with one asparagus spear so I just chopped it up and added it to my scrambled eggs.

Very yummy too thank-you very much.

In the meantime the purple asparagus I ordered from Diggers club arrived.
I'm up to my eyeballs in assignments and study atm but I hope to sneak out a bit later this arvo and plant them out.

Maggie Beer from Gardening Australia magazine claims the purple asparagus sends out less spears but they are fatter.

I guess I'll have to wait 12 months and let you know.

FWIW, I wrote this with one hand while waiting on the phone to the Australian Tax Office.
And I'm still waiting.

I don't think chooks understand the concept of gardening, they think it is all for them.

Hi, I'm new to blogging and websites in general and was curious about how you got the "www" included in your domain name? I see your domain, "http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=7677496750939268931&postID=7545278575400931470" has the www and my web address looks like, "http://mydomain.com". Do you know the correct way I can change this? I'm
using Wordpress platform. Many thanks

I was curious if you ever thought of changing the layout
of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of
content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or
two images. Maybe you could space it out better?
