Help

Help. I've consulted with my knitting guru and she has assured me that when knitting in the round on circular needles I can't get a change of colour to line up as in the photo below. Just in case she is wrong does anyone know how I can knit in the round on circular needles and get the rows to match up?

Your knitting guru was absolutely correct. When knitting in the round, you really only have one continuous row, in that you never change direction, as you do with 2 needle knitting. If having the stripes match exactly is of paramount concern, you have to knit flat, then sew together.

I'm under the impression that yes you can. There's a couple of things I make sure I do.. firstly, as soon as I've finished my cast-on, before I join in the round, I add a stitch marker so that I know exactly where a single row ends and a new row starts. Then I make sure my colour changes are exactly on the row and not just anywhere in the round which would definitely lead to stuff not lining up..
I also started some gloves, and did some stripes that lined up great.. same technique.
so yeah, have another crack at it, you'll get it.

oh, hrm, i think i accidentally deleted a couple of sentences in that last comment haha... basically, I'm thinking that the lining up probably looks much neater and everything once your work is finished, or even blocked.
do you twist the two colours when changing to avoid the jog? keeps it nice and tight on that change..
