I stumbled across this video yesterday and while it lists pesticides as an option that will be a step I'll be leaving out.
But I'm wondering if anyone has started their sweet potatoes this way and how successful you were?
I think I'll go and grab myself a tuber and give it a go anyway but just wondering.
Cheers, I'm off to plant some peas,

This is done here in S.A. school classrooms as an interest for junior school kids Stewart, the same method can be used for starting avocado plants.
I've had no luck with sweet potatoes so far but I will try that method this year and see how it goes. I like the purple skinned ones myself but I assume the method will work for any variety.
Wil let you know how I go :)
I'd like to try this! I've also heard that the tubers are great for breaking up and conditioning the soil for future crops
JGH Yeh and that you have dig them up with a digging fork might have something to do with that too.
I'd like to know how you get on with your sweet potato greenfumb.
Thanks Olive, I'm sure going to have a go.
The way you grew sweet potato was really very good and appreciating. I like you way to do so.
