You got to love Autumn.

While I was out walking the big block (see below) I took a few photos in celebration of Autumn. Just wish I had a better camera. (Working in it though)

Mt, Tabletop

Its been two weeks now since I walked/climbed/scrambled Mt. Tabletop after a month or so of training walks for my fitness.

Unfortunately I was still a fair bit underdone and found the walk/scramble very tough and exhausting. Recovery for me has taken a full two weeks with a flare up of my colitis thrown it too boot (I'm finding anytime I exert myself it causes me problems with my colitis).

A few videos from my moby phone show the view from the top of Mt. Tabletop.

This one is looking back down to the camel hump that you need to cross to get to Tabletop itself.

While I found it tough and exhausting I have been self inspired to continue on my path of walking and exploring with a ever increasing list of walks I'd like to do.

One thing I have been thinking of doing is to go to the highest (Mt Kosciusko), lowest (lake
Eyre 15m below sea level), most easterly (Byron Bay, NSW), westerly (Steep Point, WA), northerly (Cape York, Qld) and southerly, mainland (Wilsons Promontory Lighthouse, Victoria) southerly ( South East Cape, Tas) parts of Australia.

Beautiful double 180 degree rainbow

I had just started work on Wednesday evening when we had a small sun shower which produced hr most beautiful double 180 degree rainbow. I managed to get off a quick video of it on my phone and here is the result.

Beauty isn't she/he?

Bloody Bloody Bloody

I read this poem in the Courier Mail newspaper over 25 years ago and have been looking for it ever since. This morning after a random search I found it so here it is. Bloody Bloody Bloody.

A poem, author unknown but a member of the 2/22nd Btn.

Rabaul 1941 as seen by the 2/22nd Batt.

This bloody towns a bloody cuss
No bloody trams no bloody bus
Nobody cares for bloody us
The bloody roads are bloody bad
The bloody folks are bloody mad
They even say you're a bloody cad
Bloody Bloody Bloody

All bloody clouds all bloody rain
All bloody kerbs no bloody drains
The council got no bloody brains
The bloody flicks are bloody old
The bloody seats all bloody sold
You can't get in for bloody gold
Bloody Bloody Bloody
All bloody work no bloody games
No bloody fun with bloody dames
Won't even give their bloody names
All bloody wet all bloody hot
The bloody climate's all bloody rot
Cripes they can have the bloody lot
Bloody Bloody Bloody

And everything's so bloody dear
Two bloody bob for bloody beer
And is it good no bloody fear
Best in the place is bloody bed
With bloody ice on bloody head
And then you think you're bloody dead
Bloody Bloody Bloody

The Owl And The Pussy-Cat by Edward Lear

The Owl And The Pussy-Cat by Edward Lear

I
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!'

II
Pussy said to the Owl, 'You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?'
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
His nose,
His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

III
'Dear pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?'Said the Piggy,'I will.'
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

Going to get back on the horse.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again and so I shall. Some older blogger friends will know I started a tertiary preparation program last year at the USQ with the aim of starting a uni degree but' due to circumstances beyond my control' I didn't complete it. The good news is I have just come back from the USQ this morning and found out I can start again in the 2nd semester. So right now I'm feeling excited again but with a little terror mixed in as well. And hopefully there will be no circumstances beyond my control this time around.

This will mean curtailing some of my veggie growing while I'm studying but as I found out last year I was trying to do way to much which in the end probably led to my circumstances beyond my control. I'm thinking at this stage I'll reduce the size of my veggie garden and plant mainly herbs and salad/leafy plants that I like to pick fresh. Anyhow that's it for now, fingers crossed, I'll see how I go.

Cheers

Stewart
