Potting up my Dwarf Mulberry cuttings.

πŸ„ Should have done this a few weeks ago but today I'm 'potting up' the dwarf mulberry cuttings that have well and truly struck a good and healthy root system.
πŸ„I'm using 150mm pots to give the plants plenty of room to get established. πŸ„ Fairly straight forward job, I just need to give them a watering and then some half-strength liquid fertiliser tomorrow. πŸ… What do you think of the intro? I learnt it from Peter McKinnon's latest video. https://youtu.be/x4ubUxPeXGs

What to plant in April?

What to plant in April?

Gardenate's got you covered. April in the garden.

I pinched this one from the Organic Gardener website.

Comfrey and it's uses.

Wow, just wow.

I received an email from the Mudbrick Cottage Herb Farm last night and it was all about Comfrey.

Covering topics of, Harvest, preserving and using your harvest, drying comfrey for storage, comfrey infused oil and comfrey ointment.

I found it an excellent and informative read so I'll leave a link here for you and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Lisbon lemon sucker removal

πŸ„ I had to remove this sucker from my Lisbon Lemon tree before it became too vigorous and took over from the Lisbon lemon graft.
πŸ„ A simple job but one you'd need to do as a part of your regular garden maintenance. πŸ„ Suckering on grafted plants is something you need to be aware of and to be vigilant of. #citrus #libsonlemon #productivegarden

All about Basil Downy Mildew.

πŸ„ Basil downy mildew was detected for the first time in Queensland in April 2017. πŸ„ Basil downy mildew is caused by a fungal pathogen. It initially appears as tiny greyish specks on the underside of leaves and progresses to cover larger areas of the lower leaf surface. The fungus may appear raised from the leaf surface or “fluffy” in appearance. As the disease progresses areas of the affected leaves may turn yellow, brown and die. While affected leaf material may not be viable for commercial sale, the disease itself does not have an impact on human health.πŸ„ #basildownymildew #growingbasil #organicgardening πŸ„ Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/business-p... πŸ„ Justin Russell. Growing and planting Red Iceberg Lettuce.

*I left the root system of the beans in the soil hoping to take advantage of the nitrogen the beans should have fixed to their root
system.

πŸ… Time to plant the lettuce that I'd sown about four weeks ago.

They have grown very well and looked healthy and strong.

I hope you find this interesting and informative. If you have any questions then please leave your question in the comments section and I get to you.

A quick update on the dwarf mulberry cuttings.

A quick update on the dwarf mulberry cuttings I took about a month ago. I'm very pleased to say they are coming along nicely and I'm looking forward to some healthy new dwarf mulberry trees in the not too distant future. Also if you live locally or visit Toowoomba then comment below if you'd like your very own dwarf mulberry tree.
