Spring is in the air

An update on yesterdays jobs in the garden, hope you enjoy.

Spring is in the air even though it's only early August.

There's always plenty of jobs to do and here is but a few of them.

Getting asparagus ready for spring. Fertilising citrus.

Mulching.

Hey Stewart,

I haven't been on your blog much, as I've been working hard on my little garden this year. It's always great to see another gardener who is trying to make the best of their own garden, no matter what kind of soil they have.

I've been forced to put all my plants into containers/planters as my townhouse was built in the 80's and I have clay and builder's rubble in the soil - not a good combo there - and nothing grows in it as the latter makes the soil very toxic to plants. I've tried growing things in the ground and every plant died, no matter what we did.

This year, I spoiled myself - and my garden - and bought a greenhouse, and now I'm growing herbs and a Black Cherry Tomato Vine. Great stuff! I'm saving up for a bigger greenhouse to grow everything I want to eat... yep, I can't wait to do this.

Hey Mozette, glad to hear all your hard work is paying off for you. Good luck for the bigger greenhouse. Cheers.
